Crook Peak to Shute Shelve Hill

Crook Peak to Shute Shelve Hill is a protected geological site spanning a chain of limestone hills across Somerset. The area connects several elevated ridges that form part of the Mendip landscape.

The area served as a beacon location during the Spanish Armada period, with archaeological finds showing early human settlement. Stone tools from ancient times reveal how long people have inhabited this landscape.

The Mendip Way footpath follows the northern boundary, allowing visitors to explore the limestone formations and observe the diverse plant species.

The site is managed by the National Trust and accessible for walking and cycling. An old railway tunnel lies within the area and can be discovered along the various routes.
