Fazakerley is a residential ward in north Liverpool situated on flat terrain between Croxteth, Aintree, and Kirkby. The area contains housing, Aintree University Hospital, and a railway station serving the district.
The area transformed from farmland into an industrial center during World War II when the Royal Ordnance Factory manufactured weapons there. After the war, it developed into a residential neighborhood for the region.
Hartley's Village displays preserved Victorian worker houses built around the jam factory from 1886. Visitors can see how factory workers lived during that industrial period.
