Fairfield Hospital, Bedfordshire

Fairfield Hospital is an extensive psychiatric facility from the Victorian era with substantial brick buildings, lengthy corridors, and large windows distributed across substantial grounds in Bedfordshire. The structure combines practical medical design with visible craftwork typical of its construction period.

The facility opened in 1860 as Three Counties Asylum and expanded significantly over the following decades to house hundreds of patients. Its operational period as a hospital ended in 1999, after which the buildings underwent conversion to new uses.

The chapel holds a notable stained-glass window from 1920 that honors patients and staff who died during World War I. This memorial reflects how the institution recognized the personal sacrifices of those connected to the facility.
