Glenalmond College, Boarding school in Methven, Scotland.
Glenalmond College is a boarding school in Methven, a village in the Scottish county of Perth and Kinross. The stone buildings date from the mid-19th century and stand along the River Almond amid wide open grounds.
The school opened in 1847 under the name Trinity College, founded by William Gladstone and James Hope-Scott to prepare young men for ministry in the Scottish Episcopal Church. After a fire in 1893, much of the site was rebuilt and expanded.
The school maintains close ties to the Scottish Episcopal Church and houses a chapel where regular services take place. Across the broad estate, sports facilities and open grounds shape the daily rhythm of student life.
The site lies roughly 8 miles west of Perth and can be reached via regional country roads. Visitors should note it remains an active school, so access is managed accordingly.
The buildings carry Category A listed status in Scotland, recognizing their architectural significance. The original design came from John Henderson, an architect working in Edinburgh during the mid-19th century.
