Hastings Contemporary, Contemporary art museum in Hastings, Great Britain.
The museum building features over 8,000 black glazed tiles and stands prominently on The Stade, next to the historic fishing beach of Hastings Old Town.
Originally opening as Jerwood Gallery in March 2012 with a construction cost of £4 million, the institution changed its name to Hastings Contemporary in 2019.
The gallery maintains a diverse program of temporary exhibitions showcasing works from notable British artists including L.S. Lowry, Augustus John, and Maggi Hambling.
The museum opens Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00, with reduced admission fees available for local residents of Hastings.
The building received a National Award from the Royal Institute of British Architects in 2013 for its architectural design by HAT Projects.
