Maidstone Museum & Bentlif Art Gallery, Art and natural history museum in Maidstone, England.
The museum occupies an Elizabethan manor house with Victorian extensions and contains more than 660,000 artifacts spread across multiple galleries and exhibition spaces.
The institution opened in 1858 after Thomas Charles donated his art and archaeological collections to the town, establishing the foundation in Chillington Manor.
The Bentlif Art Gallery section displays 50 paintings from the fifteenth century to present day, including works by Abraham Storck and Arthur Hughes.
The museum welcomes visitors from Wednesday to Saturday between 10:00 and 16:00, with extended Monday openings during school holidays.
The collection includes Japanese netsuke carvings, Edo period woodblock prints, and the sole Egyptian adult mummified remains in Kent.
