Mountnessing Windmill, Post mill from 1807 in Mountnessing, England.

Mountnessing Windmill is a wooden post mill with a central rotating post that carries four sails for grinding grain. Inside are two pairs of millstones, and the roundhouse section has sixteen sides.

The mill was built as a post mill in 1807 and ground grain until 1924. Mountnessing Parish Council acquired it in 1937 as a memorial to King George VI.

The mill shows how grain processing worked in Essex through its mechanical systems and building design. Visitors can see the working methods that millers used in their daily operations.

The interior is open to visitors on specific days, mostly during the warmer months. Check ahead for exact opening times since these vary by season.

The roundhouse section has sixteen flat sides instead of the typical round shape. The original thatch roof was replaced with a tarred felt roof in 1909.
