One Park West, Architectural structure in Chavasse Park, Liverpool, United Kingdom
One Park West is a tall mixed-use tower on the edge of Chavasse Park in central Liverpool. Its glass facade rises over several floors that hold residential apartments in the upper levels and commercial spaces, including offices, restaurants, and cafes, on the lower ones.
The tower was completed in 2008 as part of a large regeneration project that reshaped central Liverpool. The work was tied to Liverpool's year as European Capital of Culture, which brought major investment and construction to the city center at that time.
One Park West sits next to Chavasse Park, one of the few green spaces in central Liverpool that emerged from the redevelopment of the area. The park and the building together form a public space that locals use throughout the day for a break from the city.
The building sits within walking distance of Liverpool's main shopping area, making it easy to reach on foot from most parts of the city center. Several bus stops and parking options are nearby for those coming from farther away.
The tower was designed by Argentine architect César Pelli, who is best known for the Petronas Towers in Malaysia. This was his first project outside London in the United Kingdom.
