Parkanaur House exhibits Tudor Revival architecture with octagonal pinnacles, gables, a prominent bay window, and an upper oriel along its terraced front.
The property, originally owned by the O'Donnelly family, was granted by James I to Sir Toby Caulfeild in the early 1600s before the Burges family acquired it.
The mansion transformed into the Thomas Doran Training Centre in 1960, establishing an educational facility for young adults with disabilities in Northern Ireland.
The building maintains its role as an educational center while the surrounding grounds, opened as Parkanaur Forest Park in 1983, welcome public visitors.
The estate grounds contain a specialized herd of white fallow deer, adding to the natural diversity of the Castlecaulfield landscape.
