Skegness Stadium, Racing circuit in Orby, England
Skegness Stadium is a motorsport venue on Marsh Lane, northwest of the town of Skegness in Lincolnshire, England, built around an oval asphalt track. The site has an open layout with a grandstand and a paddock area where spectators can get close to the cars and drivers.
The stadium opened in 1977 with a focus on stock car racing and demolition derbies on its oval track. Speedway was added roughly two decades later, bringing a new style of racing to the venue.
The stadium draws motorsport fans from across Lincolnshire who gather around the oval track on race weekends. The mix of local drivers and out-of-town visitors gives events a community feel that larger venues rarely have.
The venue is on Marsh Lane, northwest of Skegness, and is easiest to reach by car. Most events take place on weekends, though summer evenings occasionally bring midweek meetings too.
The stadium was once home to the Skegness Braves, a speedway team that competed in regional leagues. Caravan racing events, where ordinary touring caravans were towed around the track at speed, were also part of the program at different points.
