St Edwen's Church, Llanedwen

St Edwen's Church is a Gothic structure built from local red gritstone with sandstone accents and a tower topped by a spire extending about 21 meters high. The building shows the typical features of English Gothic style through its design and construction details.

The site was originally founded by St Edwen in 640 and served the local community for many centuries. The current building was constructed in 1856 by architect Henry Kennedy, replacing earlier structures on the same grounds.

The churchyard displays gravestones from the 17th and 18th centuries that reveal stories of the local community. These memorials show how generations have been connected to this place over time.

The church sits within easy walking distance of the Menai Strait and is straightforward to reach. Visitors should know that regular services follow traditional formats and the interior relies on candlelight rather than electric lighting.
