St Deiniol's Church, Grade II listed church in Llanddaniel Fab, Wales
St Deiniol's Church is a Gothic Revival structure with limestone-dressed rubble masonry walls and a slate roof located in Llanddaniel Fab village. The vestry entrance preserves medieval doorjambs from an earlier building that once occupied the site.
An early church at this site was associated with Saint Deiniol Fab, credited with founding it in the early 7th century. The current building underwent major renovations in 1873 when architect Henry Kennedy oversaw its modernization.
The building contains stained glass windows in the chancel and along the north wall that fill the interior with colored light. Visitors can also see an 18th-century memorial in the porch, reflecting the site's deep ties to its community over centuries.
The church sits in the village center and is accessed through a wooden lychgate positioned beside the local war memorial. The approach is straightforward and the grounds are easily reached on foot.
The vestry door's pointed arch features a carved keystone shaped like a human face that came from an earlier medieval building. This small detail is easy to miss but reveals the layered building history of the site.
