St Leonard's Church, Balderstone, Gothic Revival church in Balderstone, England
St Leonard's Church is a Gothic Revival structure built from sandstone rubble with slate roofs and a four-bay nave. The chancel sits at a lower structural level than the main body of the church.
An original chapel from 1504 was replaced by a new building in 1854. The tower and spire were added in 1906 by architects Austin and Paley.
The church hosts traditional Anglican services with organ music and choir performances that bring the local community together. These regular gatherings remain central to worship life in the village.
Regular services take place on the first and third Sunday of each month at 9:30 AM. Access to the building is through Commons Lane in Balderstone.
The churchyard contains a Grade II listed sandstone sundial from the early 1800s. The cemetery also holds six graves of soldiers from World War I.
