St Philip's Church, Alderley Edge, Gothic Revival church in Alderley Edge, England.
St Philip's Church is a Gothic Revival building featuring a southwest tower built in stages and decorated with buttresses and decorative openings. The structure contains a nave, south aisle, chancel, and houses a three-manual organ inside.
Construction began in 1851 under architect J.S. Crowther, with the main interior spaces completed in the early 1850s. Artistic additions including decorative windows came later in the 1870s.
The stained glass in the south aisle shows figures created by notable artists and produced by a celebrated workshop known for its decorative work. These windows reflect the artistic preferences of people who worshipped here during the late 19th century.
Regular worship services take place throughout the week, with live streaming available for those unable to attend in person. You can join worship either at the location or remotely from home.
The roof displays bands of different colored slate that create a distinctive visual feature often overlooked by visitors. The organ inside was originally built by a Manchester craftsman and represents another important artistic element.
