Lindow Common, Nature reserve in Wilmslow, England.
Lindow Common extends across heathland containing a central water body known as Black Lake, surrounded by native vegetation and walking paths.
The area previously contained a racecourse along its perimeter, which has since disappeared but left its mark through the current Racecourse Road.
The site represents one of only two locations in Cheshire that maintain lowland wet heath areas, contributing to regional biodiversity conservation.
The reserve features two car parks and a 1.2-kilometer circular trail constructed with compacted stone, making it suitable for wheelchair access.
The name Lindow derives from Welsh 'llyn ddu', meaning black lake, reflecting the Celtic heritage of this northwestern English landscape.
