The mansion was constructed between 1803 and 1807 by architects H and J A Repton for Charles Rogers, with additional modifications completed in 1822, 1833, and 1867.
The estate contains one of Humphry Repton's Red Books detailing the landscape design, representing his final and most thorough Welsh landscape commission.
The property maintains its status as a private residence belonging to the Coltman-Rogers family and does not offer public access to its grounds.
The terraced grounds feature a low castellated wall with rectangular exedras adorned by classical urns, complemented by a summer house from 1900.
