The Anvil features a main auditorium with 1,400 seats and delivers musical performances, theatrical shows, comedy acts, and live entertainment throughout the year.
The performing arts venue opened in April 1994 on a site initially planned for the third phase of Basingstoke's shopping center development.
The venue hosts international concert series, touring productions, classical music performances, opera shows, and showcases regional artistic talent through educational programs.
The auditorium includes adaptable seating arrangements and stage configurations to accommodate different types of performances, from orchestral concerts to theatrical productions.
The building's architecture mirrors the horn end of a traditional blacksmith's anvil and contains acoustics designed by Richard Cowell of Arup Acoustics.
