Tower North Central, tower block in Leeds, England
Tower North Central was an office building in Leeds located on Merrion Way, a main street in the city center. It featured a simple rectangular shape with a glass and concrete facade that rose above surrounding structures.
The building was completed in 1967 and opened in 1968, serving many companies and organizations as a workplace for decades. It received renovations in 1980 and again in 2003, before being demolished in 2022 to make way for the new Cirrus Point tower.
The building offered good parking and was easily accessible from main roads leading into the city center, with restaurants and cafes nearby. The entrance was simply designed with glass and concrete, making it easy to spot from the street.
The building was known locally by its former name Tower House, and many residents still remember when it was a busy office hub. Its demolition marked the end of an era for part of the Leeds skyline and signaled a shift in urban development.
