West Buckland School, Independent boarding school in West Buckland, England
West Buckland School encompasses 100 acres of educational facilities near Exmoor National Park, featuring modern sports centers, art buildings, and four separate boarding houses.
Reverend Joseph Lloyd Brereton established the institution as Devon County School in 1858 to provide education for farmers' children and middle-class families.
The school maintains four houses named Brereton, Courtenay, Fortescue, and Grenville, which participate in annual competitions culminating in the Southcomb Shield award.
Students between ages 3 and 18 can attend as day pupils or boarders, with current enrollment reaching 626 pupils across preparatory and senior levels.
The Michael Morpurgo Library, opened in 2015, stands alongside the 150 Building, which contains advanced design workshops and performance spaces.
