Pitfour Castle, Category A listed castle in St Madoes, Scotland
The residence consists of a main building with a curved staircase leading to a cupola, surrounded by 12 acres of grounds in Perthshire.
John Richardson, connected to Tay salmon fisheries, commissioned the construction of the current castle structure around 1784, replacing an earlier tower house.
The interior features painted panels by artist Zucchi, demonstrating the integration of fine arts within Scottish aristocratic residences of the period.
The castle has been subdivided into separate residential apartments, with some units available for rent through short-assured tenancy agreements.
During restoration works in 1966, removal of a Victorian entrance hall revealed the original design attributed to architect Robert Adam.
