Yellow Arch Studios, Recording studio in Kelham Island, Sheffield, England
Yellow Arch Studios occupies a restored Edwardian industrial building and contains a large live room, control room, isolation room, and vocal booth for music production. The spaces are designed to handle different recording scenarios and allow flexible production workflows.
The facility opened in 1996 after transforming a former nuts and bolts factory that supplied components to Sheffield's bridge and shipping industries. The location preserves this industrial past within its structure.
The studio has recorded albums for Arctic Monkeys, Richard Hawley, Kylie Minogue, Jarvis Cocker, and many other notable British musicians. This connection to the local music scene shapes how the place is used and perceived today.
Musicians can book recording sessions, use rehearsal rooms, or perform in the on-site venue. A Moroccan-style café bar within the complex provides refreshments during breaks and social time.
The recording space combines vintage equipment like the Amek Angela mixing desk with modern digital technology to produce high-quality sound. This blend of old and new allows for a characteristic and versatile sound signature.
