Morecambe Winter Gardens, Historic theatre venue in Morecambe, England
The Morecambe Winter Gardens features ornate brick and terracotta design, a tunnel-vaulted ceiling, and original mosaic works throughout its grand interior spaces.
The Victoria Pavilion, now known as Winter Gardens, opened in 1897 as a theatre complex with performance spaces, restaurants, and outdoor recreational areas.
The stage has hosted performances by George Formby, Gracie Fields, Vera Lynn, The Who, and The Rolling Stones throughout its entertainment history.
The theatre currently accommodates 975 guests on the ground floor while restoration work continues to expand capacity to 2,500 seats.
In July 2022, King Charles III marked the theatre's 125th anniversary by recognizing the volunteer efforts in maintaining this Grade II* listed structure.
