Rossall Point Observation Tower
Rossall Point Observation Tower is a 42-foot tall viewing structure located on the coast between Cleveleys and Fleetwood. It features two observation decks with views of the Irish Sea, Morecambe Bay, and distant fells, along with a ground-floor gallery displaying local environmental and seasonal information.
The tower was constructed with funding from the Sea Change programme and built by Wyre Council. It was established as an observation and visitor center designed to make the coastal environment accessible and educational for the public.
The tower takes its name from Rossall Point, the coastal location where it stands. Inside, visitors encounter the artwork called 'Drift', which uses natural textures and patterns inspired by the shoreline landscape.
Access is available via a path from Princess Parade or from the nearby car park, which includes family facilities. For visitors who prefer not to climb, a ground-level screen provides live views of the beach and promenade.
The National Coastwatch Institute operates from the second floor, maintaining continuous watch over the coastal waters for safety purposes. A dedicated team of volunteer rangers regularly organizes beach cleanups and community events throughout the year.
