Church of St Mary, Gothic church in Lutterworth, England
The Church of St Mary features stone walls, large stained glass windows, and a spire that was reconstructed in 1761 after the original fell in 1703.
John Wycliffe served as rector of this church from 1374 to 1384, during which time he completed the first translation of the Bible from Latin to English.
The north aisle contains medieval wall paintings from the 15th century, including the Lutterworth Doom and the Three Living and Three Dead scenes.
The church opens Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to noon, with regular services on Sundays at 11:00 AM and Wednesdays at 10:30 AM.
The building houses extensive pre-Reformation murals that survived centuries, including figures rising from tombs and Christ surrounded by angels above the chancel arch.
