Originally belonging to Arbroath Abbey lands, this tower house from 1576 remained inhabited until 1948 before undergoing restoration work in 1993.
The castle represents Scottish architectural evolution through its modified Z-plan layout, which combines defensive capabilities with residential comfort requirements of the period.
