Lockerbie, High Street, Town Hall

Lockerbie Town Hall is a red sandstone building in High Street with a prominent clock tower that rises about 115 feet above the street. The structure contains multiple functional spaces, including a grand hall and a smaller hall, which serve for community events and municipal services.

The building was completed in 1891 and designed in Scottish baronial style, giving it a distinctive character. It has anchored the center of Lockerbie since then and stands as a reminder of the town's development during that era.

Inside the town hall, stained glass windows display flags from 21 nations affected by the 1988 plane crash. These windows serve as a remembrance space and show how the community remains connected to people around the world through this tragedy.

The building sits centrally on High Street and is easy to reach on foot when walking through town. Surrounding parking areas and its open location make visiting straightforward.

Outside the building stands a sculpture of five life-sized sheep installed in 2013. This art piece references the town's historical lamb market tradition, which was an important part of community life for many years.
