1 Caledonia Road is a ruined church built from stone, located where Caledonia Road meets Gorbals Road. The surviving walls and entrance still display the detailed classical design that was part of the original structure.
Construction started in 1856 and the church opened in 1857 as an important building for the neighborhood. A fire in 1965 destroyed the interior, leaving only the outer walls standing.
This place served as a spiritual and social center where local residents gathered for worship and community events over many decades. Today, walking around the ruins shows how important such buildings were to neighborhood life in Glasgow.
The ruins are located at a street corner in Glasgow and easy to find and view from outside. Access to the interior may be restricted, so it is best to view the structure from the street.
