Twyford Waterworks, Industrial museum in Twyford, United Kingdom.

Twyford Waterworks is a water treatment and pumping facility in Twyford that contains machinery rooms, lime kilns, and original equipment from its working years. The site displays how water was filtered, softened, and moved around using narrow gauge railways.

The facility was built in 1898 to supply water to the surrounding area and received a larger pumping engine in 1913. This upgrade allowed the operation to handle increased demand from growing communities.

Local volunteers care for this place and show visitors how the old equipment works. Their demonstrations help people understand the engineering skill from an earlier time.

The site opens on select Sundays from May through October, and visitors can join guided tours to learn about the equipment. Tea rooms are available on-site and the pathways are easy to walk for people with limited mobility.

A water-powered narrow gauge railway was built in 1903 and carried coal and chalk throughout the facility using flowing water for energy. Visitors can still see how this unusual system operates.
