Tal-y-coed Court, Victorian country house in Llantilio Crossenny, Wales
Tal-y-coed Court is a red brick mansion with a symmetrical five-bay west front and three tall pedimented dormers from the late 19th century. The structure displays extensive architectural details and careful design throughout its form.
The house was built between 1881 and 1883 for Joseph Bradney, a local dignitary and antiquarian. Architect F.R. Kempson designed it in Queen Anne style using bricks made from local clay.
The interior showcases Victorian character through quality woodwork, detailed moulded ceilings, and original Morris wallpaper that decorates the rooms.
The listed building sits about 2 kilometers east of Llantilio Crossenny village and can be reached via a driveway from the B4233 road. The grounds include several outbuildings and are best visited during daylight hours.
The property includes a clock tower and original stables that reveal the wealth of its early residents. A lodge building at the main entrance marks the gateway to the formal residence.
