Llansannor Court, Manor house in Llansannor, United Kingdom.
Llansannor Court is an L-shaped manor in Penllyn built with local limestone rubble walls, Welsh slate roofs, and a symmetrical five-bay front with a projecting porch running the full height. The structure combines building phases from different centuries, with its earliest wing dating to the 1500s and later expansions added over time.
The south-west wing was built around 1500, while the main section was added by the Gwynne family between 1580 and 1590. Major restoration work in the 1880s preserved the original structure while updating the building for later use.
The interior shows rooms from the late 1500s mixed with later Victorian additions, including an Oak Room with Tudor details and decorative wall treatments. This blend of different periods reveals how the house was lived in and modified over centuries.
The building sits near the Church of St. Senwyr and is surrounded by the rural Welsh landscape. When visiting, be ready for paths that wind through countryside and note that the older parts of the house have uneven floors typical of buildings from that era.
The Great Chamber displays a five-bay ceiling with roll-moulded beams and retains the original oak-framed doorway with direct access to a historic staircase. These features are rarely preserved intact and show the craftsmanship of early carpentry work.
