Dyfi Bridge, Road bridge in Corris, Wales
Dyfi Bridge is a five-arch stone bridge spanning the River Dyfi in Corris. The structure displays rounded arches supported by slim pilaster buttresses, with pointed cutwaters positioned between each span.
The bridge was built in 1533 and served as a crossing between Powys and Gwynedd counties. Major restoration work took place in 1805 to preserve the structure and keep it functional.
The bridge stands as a representation of Welsh engineering, marked by its Grade II* listed status and scheduled monument designation from the Welsh government.
The bridge continues to function as an active crossing for pedestrians and vehicles. The approaches on both sides feature gentle slopes that make traversal straightforward.
The walls are built from rubble stone with carefully cut voussoirs fitted together across each arch. This craftsmanship shows how medieval bridge building was done with precision in Wales.
