The Four Aces Club, Music venue in Dalston, London, United Kingdom
The Four Aces Club was a music venue housed in a converted Victorian theater building in Dalston with multiple spaces inside. Each area could host different kinds of performances and gatherings simultaneously.
Founded in 1966 by Newton Dunbar and Charlie Collins, the club started in Highbury Grove before moving to Dalston to accommodate growing crowds. Operations ended in 1997 when Hackney Council acquired the property through a compulsory purchase order.
The space became a gathering point where Afro-Caribbean communities in London celebrated their music and identity together. Visitors could experience live performances that shaped the cultural conversations of the time.
The venue offered different spaces that visitors could explore depending on the type of event they wanted to attend. Each room had its own character, size, and setup for different kinds of performances.
During the 1990s the space became known as Club Labrynth and hosted key moments in London's electronic dance music scene. The Prodigy performed one of their earliest public shows there before achieving mainstream fame.
