Hertsmere House is a residential tower at West India Quay that rises 67 stories with a facade shaped like a ship's hull. The building houses approximately 860 apartments and integrates maritime forms throughout its design.
The site previously held an office building until Greenland Group acquired it in 2014 and proposed the residential tower. The project was later revised after safety measures were implemented following the Grenfell incident.
The building's shape references the maritime past of the area through its design, which echoes the bow and stern of a ship. This architectural choice connects the modern structure to the harbor's heritage.
