St Mary the Virgin Church exhibits stone walls, pointed arches, and twin towers that characterize its Gothic Revival architectural design from 1878.
The current building replaced a 7th-century church that stood on the site of a Roman fort and served as a religious center until its demolition in 1809.
The Grade II listed church maintains regular Sunday services at 9:30 AM, featuring traditional elements including a robed choir and Holy Communion.
Located at Reculver Lane, CT6 6TA, the church welcomes visitors under the guidance of Rev Sue Martin through the United Parish of Reculver organization.
Materials from the previous medieval church structure were repurposed for construction projects in Hillborough and Margate Pier during the 19th century.
