Winchester Guildhall, Municipal hall and music venue in Winchester, England
The Gothic Revival building features a grand entrance with steps leading to an arcaded entryway and a tall clock tower above three mullion windows.
Constructed in 1873 to replace an earlier structure from King Edward IV's time, the Guildhall occupies land that previously hosted St Mary's Abbey.
The King Charles Room contains significant portraits, including those of King Charles II and Queen Elizabeth II, representing centuries of British monarchy.
The venue offers multiple function spaces accommodating up to 1000 people for corporate events, festivals, exhibitions, and private celebrations throughout the year.
A hidden artwork discovery revealed that a portrait thought to be King Charles I was actually an overpainted image of Henry Jermyn.
