The Baptist Church, Protestant church in Uckfield, England.
The Baptist Church in Uckfield is a red brick building with four round-arched windows along its side and a traditional tile roof. Its front elevation features curved bargeboards and pierced openings that reflect Georgian design elements.
The building was constructed in 1789 following the congregation's separation from Five Ash Down Independent Chapel in 1785. It served as a gathering place for Baptist worship until the property was sold in 2005.
The Baptist community has been rooted in Protestant traditions across East Sussex since its earliest days, maintaining strong ties to Baptist Together and the Evangelical Alliance networks.
The original building is now in private hands and not open to visitors. The active congregation meets for Sunday worship at Manor Primary School within the town.
The building gained its Grade II listed status in 1982, a recognition that came years after it had ceased to serve its original purpose. This designation highlighted its value as a Georgian architectural example in the region.
