Hyde County

Hyde County is located on the coast of North Carolina and covers a large area where more than half of its territory is water. This mix of land and water makes the region distinctive and includes several islands and wetlands.

The territory began as Wickham Precinct and later became Hyde Precinct before receiving its current county status in 1739. These administrative shifts reflect how colonial boundaries changed over time.
