The Bellrose Trail is open year-round from sunrise to sunset for bird watching, photography, and fishing. Certain areas allow seasonal hunting, so visitors should check what activities are available during their visit.
Thompson Lake was naturally restored in 2008 by simply turning off the drainage pumps that had dried the area. This simple action led to the quick return of native fish species and water birds.
