Francis Land House, Historic house in Virginia Beach, United States
The Francis Land House stands as a brick residence with Flemish bond brickwork, Federal style interiors, and gardens spread across 7 acres of land.
The Land family established their presence on this property in the 1630s, maintaining ownership for over 150 years until the early 1850s.
The property functions as a museum, presenting period furniture and educational programs that demonstrate the living conditions of early American settlers.
Located at 3131 Virginia Beach Boulevard, the museum opened in 1986 after the City of Virginia Beach acquired and restored the structure.
German prisoners of war worked on the property during World War II when it operated as a dairy farm under the ownership of the Sheets family.
