Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, Gothic Revival church in Wabasha, United States
Grace Memorial Episcopal Church is a Gothic Revival church building located in Wabasha. The structure features stone walls, arched windows in the Gothic style, stone buttresses, and a slate roof topped with Celtic crosses at the gable peaks.
The building was commissioned in 1900 to replace an earlier church structure on the site. It was created as a memorial to Emily Hills Irvine, the wife of the person who commissioned the project.
The chancel window from Tiffany Studios shows Mary and Mary Magdalene at the tomb on Easter morning. This artwork represents the fine craftsmanship that visitors can see inside the building.
The building is accessible to visitors and hosts regular worship services throughout the week. It is helpful to confirm service times in advance or contact the parish to plan your visit.
The building was designed by acclaimed architect Cass Gilbert, who created other significant structures of his era. It remains the primary religious structure in Wabasha since its completion over a century ago.
