Hancock County Courthouse

Hancock County Courthouse is a county courthouse featuring intricate stonework, ornate carvings, and large stained glass windows throughout its structure. The building still serves as the seat of the Hancock County Common Pleas Court, handling civil, criminal, and family matters.

The building was constructed between 1886 and 1888 and was recognized by the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It received this designation for its architectural significance and represents the style of its era.

A statue of John Hancock tops the roof, surrounded by three female figures symbolizing Law, Justice, and Mercy. These sculptures convey the values the building represents to the community.
