The William K. Vanderbilt House, also known as the Petit Chateau, was a luxurious mansion located on Fifth Avenue in New York City.
Built in 1883, it was one of the most opulent homes of the Gilded Age.
Designed by Richard Morris Hunt, the house showcased French Renaissance style architecture.
Though demolished in 1926, its location is now occupied by Bergdorf Goodman department store.
It was the first house on Fifth Avenue to have a hydraulic elevator.
