St. Patrick's Cathedral, Gothic Revival cathedral in Midtown Manhattan, United States

The cathedral occupies an entire city block between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue, featuring marble walls, bronze doors, and twin spires reaching 329 feet.

Construction started in 1858 but faced interruptions during the Civil War before the official inauguration ceremony took place on May 25, 1879.

The cathedral serves as the seat of the Archbishop of New York and functions as a central location for Catholic ceremonies in the metropolitan area.

The cathedral maintains daily operations from 6:30 AM to 8:45 PM, accommodating up to 2,400 people for religious services and guided visits.

The structure contains nineteen bells in its northern tower and houses two separate pipe organs for musical accompaniment during religious ceremonies.
