Hayes State Park

Hayes State Park encompasses 654 acres of land with modern recreational facilities, offering access to both Wamplers Lake and Round Lake through multiple points.

Established in 1920 as Cedar Hill State Park, the park received its current name in 1930 when the Hayes family donated land under specific naming conditions.

The park functions as a central gathering spot in the Irish Hills region, where generations of Michigan residents participate in water-based and outdoor activities.

Visitors can access two boat launches, swimming areas, fishing piers, hiking trails, camping grounds, and rental facilities throughout the four seasons of operation.

The park completely encircles Round Lake and connects to Wamplers Lake through a channel that accommodates small watercraft navigation between both bodies of water.
