Hawthorn Hill, Historic residence in Oakwood, Ohio, US
The white-pillared mansion sits on three acres of land with 150 hawthorn trees surrounding the hilltop property in Oakwood.
Completed in 1914, the residence served as home to aviation pioneer Orville Wright until 1948, following the death of his brother Wilbur during construction.
Notable visitors to Hawthorn Hill included Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, Charles Lindbergh, and President Franklin D. Roosevelt during its social gatherings.
The mansion accommodates private events and corporate functions for up to 50 guests through Dayton History's Facilities Rental Department.
Orville Wright incorporated mechanical innovations throughout the house, including a central vacuum system and a water storage tank for rainwater collection.
