The Holmes Creek Covered Bridge crosses Holmes Creek with a single-lane wooden structure measuring 41 feet long and 12 feet wide on Lake Road.
The bridge received recognition on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and features a King post truss with tied arch design construction.
The bridge construction specifications were determined by local Selectmen to ensure agricultural loads, particularly hay wagons, could pass through the structure.
The structure maintains an 8 feet 3 inches height restriction for vehicles and underwent substantial rehabilitation work in 1993 to support normal traffic loads.
Located at the lowest elevation among Vermont covered bridges, this structure stands near former Holmes family apple orchards that operated in the 1800s.
