Hobbs State Park – Conservation Area

Hobbs State Park is a large conservation area along the southern shore of Beaver Lake with limestone bluffs, dense forests, and substantial water frontage. The property contains varied habitats and diverse landscape types across its grounds.

The first steam-powered sawmill in Arkansas was built here during the 1840s and supplied lumber to the region. This early industrial operation shaped development in northwest Arkansas.

The visitor center displays information about the region's natural world and geological features through interactive exhibits. Guests can learn about the wildlife, landscape formation, and local heritage in one place.

The park has over 80 kilometers of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Primitive campsites are available but require longer walks to reach from main access points.

This is the only state park in Arkansas where regulated hunting is allowed. Three state agencies work together to manage the property and maintain ecological balance.
