Dos Hermanos Bridge, Road bridge in Condado district, San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Dos Hermanos Bridge is a road bridge spanning the Condado Lagoon in San Juan, Puerto Rico, connecting the Condado district to the entrance of Old San Juan. The structure carries four traffic lanes across roughly 300 meters of waterway.
The bridge was built in 1910 by engineers Hernan and Sosthenes Behn, who came from St. Thomas and shaped the development of the modern Condado district. This was a key part of their ambitious infrastructure project.
Local residents gather on the bridge during evenings to observe the illuminated structure while enjoying social activities and photography sessions along its walkways.
The bridge has a pedestrian walkway where visitors can walk on foot and is accessible around the clock. During rush hours the traffic lanes can get congested, so crossing in the early morning or early evening works better.
The two Behn brothers founded the Porto Rican Telephone Company and shaped telecommunications on the island. The bridge carries their name as a tribute to their role in modernizing the area.
