Lasdon Park and Arboretum

Lasdon Park and Arboretum is a botanical garden in Somers, New York, covering approximately 234 acres with collections of flowering trees, lilacs, pines, azaleas, and other plantings throughout the property. The grounds also feature ponds, woodland trails, and several specialized garden areas for different types of plants.

Originally known as Cobbling Rock Farm, the property was purchased by William and Mildred Lasdon in 1939 and later became publicly accessible in 1986. Since then, it has served as an educational resource for the region.

The Chinese Friendship Pavilion within the grounds represents a gift from the People's Republic of China to the Westchester County community. Visitors can experience traditional architecture and landscaping that reflects cultural connections between different places.

The grounds are open daily from 8 AM to 4 PM and offer walking paths suitable for different abilities and interest levels. Guided tours are available for school groups and visitors interested in learning more about the plant collections and landscape features.

The Westchester County Veterans Museum located on the grounds features exhibits about local military service members and commemorative memorials dedicated to their service. This museum provides an unexpected historical perspective within the botanical setting.
