The station features a 35-foot steel frame tower positioned at an elevation of 3,355 feet above sea level in the Adirondack Mountains.
Constructed in 1917 by the Aermotor Corporation, this tower replaced an earlier wooden structure from 1912 and operated until 1971.
The station represents the development of forest preservation methods in New York State through its inclusion in the Fire Observation Stations register.
Located at coordinates 44.558195, -74.151781, the station occupies less than one acre within the Debar Mountain Wild Forest.
The station's steel stairs were removed after 1971, making the tower inaccessible while preserving its historical structure.
